Just bought Xenon bulbs for main headlights. Im guessin its as simple as changing the bulbs?

Anyone know anywere that sells solid headlight and indicator in one. Ive seen a few old B5 Passats about with one solid headlight including indicator instead of the headlight then the indicator beside it.

Cheers

Have you bought replacement xenon bulbs for a xenon equipped headlamp or have you bought a conversion kit (ballasts, bulbs etc)?

The former is a case of changing the bulbs, the latter is illegal.

One piece 3B headlights are aftermarket items and available from eBay and similar 'outlets'.

I just bought the bulbs, havent done a thing yet. Old standard bulbs in at present. Ive never done this before or looked into it. Was under the impression all I had to do was change the bulbs.

cheers

aye just bang em in. except they are 100 watt so are illegal for road use and will probably get so hot they melt your lights. i have seen it happen before.

I work for the DVA so im going to double confirm what the max legal watt is but i did find this online now...

" I always thought the limit was 60W, backed up by the fact that anything you buy that's rated higher than that always says "Off road use only" or something similar.

But, i phoned VOSA last year to ask someone, 2 55W bulbs on my lorry, driving up dark country roads is a bit hopeless, and was told that there is no upper limit on how powerful your headlight bulbs are allowed to be.

Obviously though, you need to take into account the wiring in place when thinking about uprating them, although if you're talking about fitting some new spots, you can make sure the wiring is up to the job easily enough.

Still haven't done anything about my trucks candles though."

Im going to confirm this with Vosa and my local MOT centre fro definate though.

Lights arrived last night, absolutely fantastic and fully legal. Nice clear white light, no more musky ugly yellow. Tuning box arrived today, be interesting to see if it makes much of a difference when i stick in in later tonight.

anybodyn know where these go??? they came with the headlights, guessing there sidelights? they dont seem to fit right tho..
