Fuel and oil additives

Hello all,

Does anyone use an oil or fuel additive in their VW diesel engine. I have a 2.0 tdi 140 and would appreciate some advice on what I should use.

5th gear did a few tests on fuel additives and they all proved to be crap. Not sure about oil but using a good quality oil should be enough. The only additive you sometimes see is if you running an LSD

Use a good quality oil of the correct specification, and you will not need any extra additive.

300ml of 2 stroke mineral oil in with ur fill of diesel works wonders for me. Ive done this on my last 3 cars and all have averaged about 5mpg more overall. My 2009 2.0 tdi 140 now does 54.3 mpg instead of 50.4 mpg and ive only had the car a few weeks.
