Hi all, was hoping for a little advice and recommendations for my little one who is nearly 22months. We currently have a Maxi-Cosi Pearl on the family fix car base, however the wee man is outgrowing it really fast! (he's pretty tall)
So I'm currently looking at seats/boosters that are good from 9m to 12yrs group '123'. I would prefer Iso-Fix but it's not a deal breaker if it isn't..
To give you an idea of what we've been looking at http://www.kiddicare.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/productdisplay0_10751_-1_205984_10001 We've decided against that one as I highly doubt the wee man will take to impact shield thing up front lol!
Thanks in advance :)
It'll be fitted to our C6 'A6' and my wifes 2005 2dr Yaris.

That's a shame about the impact shield. We have the Cybex Pallas 2 from kiddicare and it's the best car seat I've ever used....have three kids and our youngest loves this seat. Falls asleep almost immediately and the shield prevents him from slipping sideways. So easy to fit in the car too.
Try and get to a shop that you can try him in the seat. You might be surprised!

Thanks Neil, we're off to Mothercare today to try a few... We'll certainly try one with the shield and see how it goes! He's a fussy little bugger ;) As is his mum... Lol

So Mothercare don't carry any in-store to try with the impact shield... So have made a good few dozen calls and found someone quite local that has one! So it's off to see how that goes... :)

We looked at quite a few and initially was sceptical about the impact shield.....now I wouldn't use anything else for a child seat. Its so secure and our little chap loves it....the impact shield is almost like a table!
We had a look at various different brands but the Cybex is head and shoulders above the rest in terms of build quality and functionality... its actually two seats in one ...converts to a group 3 seat when the child is older by removing the base...brilliant design. Also completely washable too. As soon as you see one next to any other make you can see the difference immediately... as far as I'm concerned its the best on the market. Expensive but worth every penny.

Thanks Neil, well yesterday we managed to try out a few seats... Firstly we tried the 'Recaro Monza Nova IS' this had an impact shield.. Recaro Monza Nova IS Seatfix car seat (http://www.recaro.child-seats.co.uk/recaro-monza-nova-is-seatfix_916.htm)
Well we first tried in the shop and he didn't take to it at all.. So I got them to fit it in the car and we tried it without anyone there as he was a little anxious! Well kind of gutted that he didn't take to it at all... He kept trying to climb out the seat! Not good!!! So we tried a few others and we managed to agree on the 'Britax Eolva 123 Plus' Buy Britax Evolva 123 Plus Car Seat, Black Thunder online at John Lewis (http://www.johnlewis.com/britax-evolva-123-plus-car-seat-black-thunder/p231779005) I also managed to get it for only £80. It'll do for the next few months till we can decide what to buy... As we'll be without one from Friday! We're gonna keep trying for the impact bar type for him though... And hopefully he'll get used to it! :headbang:
