Hi guys, just installed a rear and front camera into my a7 but struggling to set it up to function with vag com,if I set it up for reverse cam then the optical screen doesn't come on,if I reboot the system the rear view shows for a few seconds untill the radio initialises then it just goes to the radio station screen, putting it back into reverse doesn't change the screen at all but the audible beeping is there as well as the light on the dash for pdc.
cptrouble is now I have tied myself up in knots changing things, can anyone with a rear view cam do a scan for me and post it so I can go through it.thanks.

ps.realy interested in scan for module 10 and 5f.

I added one to my wife's A5 and have the coding at home. I'm in Germany at the moment and will post the coding when I get back if you like?

In fact, here it is. Found it on an email.....

With VCDS go to Controller 09 Central Electrics, then Long Coding, Long Coding Helper, Select Byte 35 and tick bit 4. This will change the HEX value to 34. Once Coded you need to go into the Parking Sensor Menu on the MMi, then disable Display and then re-enable the display. The Reverse Camera will now be default when reverse is selected and the OPC display will show on the right side.

Make sure 6C is ticked in CAN gateway Installation list.
Make sure 5F is coded for byte 7 bit 1. Reboot MMI. Make sure 6C is coded correctly. Usually 1021008.

Follow that to the letter and you should be in business.

Thanks for that,I will try it after but I think the front and rear cameras I have got along with the control module is for a digital mmi head unit, however mine is a early a7 and Its analogue,so after many hours messing with vag com it's looking like compatibility issues rather than coding.having said that I will certainly try these settings.
looking at the control numbers above though I think the modules are different between the a7 and a5 as its module 5f and 10 (park/steer).

Unfortunately module 09 only has 29 bytes on mine.

Yeah, the 09 module is not used in the A7 for camera coding.

Only 19, 6C, 10 & 5f are coded for front and rear camera.

I'm still struggling to get mine working. It did once.

My problem is activating 6c,I can't get into it in any way I have tried, its just not being recognised.
if I reboot the system I do get picture for a few seconds, then the radio initialising screen interrupts it and it reverts to the optical only screen.

I can connect to 6C just fine, have you got it on the right can bus, pins 22H & L of the rear can bus bars.

There wasnt any canbus connection to be made with the kit,it came factory installed with the optical sensors, the kit I got was a module and loom, the loom connects the optical module to the new module and wired to pins 9+ 11 of the blue connector behind the mmi.

The kit I got was two cameras, a module (6C) and a loom, the loom has 4 wires (well 6 actually but two are not used) it connects to power and canbus.

The module itself has 6 connectors.

1. power & can
2. video out to pins 5 & 11 (not 9 & 11)
3. Left camera
4. right camera
5. front camera
6. rear camera

Mine isn't oe,its aftermarket.the connector on the optical module plugs into the new loom, the new loom then connects both modules, then its just 2 composite inputs for cameras and a lead for output which ends in the 2 pins connecting to head unit pins 9+11 on the blue connector, definitely no can bus connections, maybe it uses the optical sensors can bus connection and piggy backs it? No idea.the firm I got the kit from reckon its a early a7 and has analogue pdc system but the kit I have is digital, does that make sense.

yes you are right,it is pins 5+11,I was wrong with 9+11.

Also I don't understand your post regarding digital MMI? The MMI is the same for all A7's just high or low versions. They all have the same analogue camera inputs on pins 5 and 11 of the blue connector.

The front and rear camera uses the same connection to the MMI as the standard rear camera.

Hence why you can't talk to a 6C module. You don't have one unless you had a factory rear camera fitted.

thats the kit I got and I spoke with the electrician at the company who gave me verbal fitting instructions.when I came to code it up and couldn't get it working i phoned the company for advise,he checked my chassis number and said its a early a7 that has analogue pdc sensors, the kit is designed for digital sensors,he is looking into remedies at the moment.

Well I can't help you if it's not factory.

Finally got it sorted, bought a rev AA controller from Audi and used VAS to recode it for my car. Works like a charm. My original parking controller was too old and did not support the corner view cameras.
