Can't open door from inside

Hi all

I have a 09 a4 2.0 petrol.

I returned to my car this evening to find that I couldn't open the drivers door from the inside.

it was working fine this morning, and the door opens fine from the outside and locks properly.

any suggestions on how to fix this?

It would appear that the cable is not operating, either because it has snapped, or something has failed on the release lever that you pull on. Door panel will need to be removed to check.

I wonder if this is similar to the problem that affects B6 Passats? If I remember correctly, the solution is to open the door, hold the outside handle up and then cycle the inner door handle a few times until it clicks back into operation.

Worth a shot?
