Hi,

First off not only am i new to audi's but also new to forums as well so if this post is in the wrong section i apologise in advance.

Anyway, purchased my first Audi yesterday and havent stopped smiling yet. I am still a little confused with the MMI console and am struggling to get certain components to work i.e. the telephone pairing via bluetooth.

The vehicle year model and current system i am running is as follows:

2008 A5 3.0 TDI Quattro

MMI 2G

SW: B8-HU 61.7.0 0741
HW: B8-HU 6329D2.0
FC SW: 06131AFC6AB320100
FC PS: 0100 FC HW: H08

When i press the TEL button on the MMI i am greeted with the message "Telephone not installed". Is this actually a software problem and would installing an update remedy this or is it simply the fact that bluetooth is not a standard factory installed option?

If its the latter how easy is it to retrofit bluetooth to this system.

Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Dan

Welcome to VWAF

Telephone not installed means as it says, bleutooth isn't installed.

If you look inside your armrest and see if there any metal contacts, if not then you have zilch.

Just to confirm you do indeed have MMI, do you have 8 outer buttons, 4 inner buttons and a central dial around the gearstick and NOT on the dash?

If you have the buttons around the gearstick then this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUDI-MMI-2G-A4-A5-A6-A8-Q7-BLUETOOTH-retrofit-install-kit-plug-play-4E0910336M-/370942853205?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item565deac055 is what you need.

Wow Talk about quick reply.

Yeah i have the MMI system, they are all around the gearstick.

Thanks for the link.

Now i just need to find a guide on how to self retro fit one of these.

Its not hard, just drop the glovebox and plug the loom (plug and play) into the back of the cd multichanger to create another plug then run the mic to the centre light on the roof and job done.

Haven't got the parts yet, waiting to get xmas out the way before splashing out on toys for myself instead of the nipper.

Managed to find a video taking you step by step through the process and it all seemed quite straight forward.

Looking to perform the upgrade at the start of Feb so ill let you know how i get on.
