A1 1.6TDI Sportback Brake Pad Wear

I have just bought a 13 plate A1 1.6TDI S-Line.

Have noticed that both front brake pads are worn tapered (like a wedge)

Is this normal for the A1?

I would have expected the brakes to were even, never had a car that wears like this.

Braking performance does not seem to be impaired however.

Anyone else noticed this?

the pads have a taper to prevent squeel. this is what you are looking at i would imagine.
