Would anyone that knows parts well recommend a decent cam belt or any cam belt and water pump. If you recommend a decent one to replace with, which one should it be?

Welcome to VWAF.

If we knew the model, engine and engine code we could help further.

Thanks for the quick replies. I have found a Gates belt and water pump for about £115. Would Audi do the fixing cheap if i have the parts??

Probably not, are you anywhere near Stafford? They seem to be doing a great offer on atm. Did you try your local Audi Specialist?

I didn't check the local one but i looked on their main page and it quotes £439. Would you know what belts they use?

Sorry audi. Fixed-price servicing < Servicing with Audi < Owners area (http://www.audi.co.uk/owners-area/servicing-with-audi/affordable-servicing.html)

No dealer will fit parts for you, they have to guarantee their work and they can't guarantee parts if they don't know their provenance. If Audi/VW change your belt and pump they'll use genuine parts and give you a 2 year guarantee.
