Hi all
im after upgrading my standard halogen headlights to genuine audi xenons
i have seen some headlights for a 2010 b8 with day time running and afs.
Will these be a straight swap for my standards other than the extra wiring loom adaptor? And what vcds coding will need changing, if any?
thanks
john

You will need a converter loom from kufatec but you won't be totally legal without headlamp washers and self levellers for the beam.

you will need to run the two single wires from the loom into the ccm under the steering wheel to work and vcds coding to suit.

if you're gonna do it then do it properly but this is where the price racks up.

thanks for the reply,
will the 2010 headlight physically fit and work in a 2008
what are the 2 wires for back to the ccm?
Is there a guide to doing all this?
cheers

Can someone please confirm that headlights from a 2010 will work in a 2008, thanks also, been reading about the connections to the ccm and how some b8's have different ones which wont accept the cables from the adaptors. how can I check this? what am I looking for? is there a specific part number for the ccm I will need cheers

Yes they will fit but without the wires you won't get full beam. You need to do a scan of your car and post up the scan to see the part number of your ccm.

go into your ccm and see if it allows long coding for xenon shutters.

why not just go into your ccm and see if it allows long coding for xenon shutters.

ok ill have a look later, any idea which bit/ byte it should be

found this on another site and followed what it said From other forum,

Go into 09 Central Electronics

Click on Coding-07

Select Long Coding Helper

1) Change the first byte to 26 (Xenons will turn on properly after this)

2) Check Byte 02 Bit 4 (LED strip (http://motors.shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=led+strip) as DRL (http://forums.audiworld.com/showthread.php?t=2773132#))

3) Change byte 14 and 15 to 5D (For the hi-beam to work) I can get the coding to accept on point 2 and 3 but will not accept changing point 1 from 69 to 26, think I might need a new ccm, ill have to physically look at the ccm tomorrow and see if the pins are there, or will it not accept because xenons are not fitted yet? cheers

bought some xenons today. so just need the rest of the bits now. are the kufatec adaptors just for the high beams to work or will the standard plug not fit in the xenons headlight? and reading about the ccm, I need the one ending in 'd', can I buy a used one or does this have to new, and will it need programming to my car or is it just a straight swap, cheers

The adapters are needed as the halogen headlights have a different plug than the xenon.

Check your coding in your CCM first of all when you fit them and see if it accepts all the coding.

I you do need a replacement it will more than likely have component protection which you'll need Audi to remove for 1 hours labour.

hi, following on from the xenons install I need to change the 09 control module (8K0 907 063) as it wont accept the coding. I've read the threads which say I need part number 8K0 907 063 D but I cant find one anywhere. does anyone know any other part numbers that will work on my car for the xenons? eg 8K0 907 063 DH or 8K0 907 063 N. Thanks

Yeah please but they are all slightly different throuh the stages. Which part number needed? Which others will work? And where to get them? And how much to get it fitted?

Coding is specific to each car, you will need the new module coded correctly to suit the options in your car.

It's a bit more than plug 'n' play :p

i know that ha ha
But I've just been through the code and I can change the numbers on mine to match the N module and the ones I can't I don't have. If that makes sense

If your module doesn't support Xenons it won't work and you'll mess something up :p
