Hi guys

I had a brand new clutch, flywheel (http://www.shopzilla.co.uk/rd2?t=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.fitness-superstore.co.uk%2Fcompact_elliptical_trainers%2Fn ordictrack_e9_zl_elliptical_cross_trainer%2F11434_ p.html&mid=110564&catId=13829&atom=11181&prodId=&oid=1650523601&pos=1&bId=18&bidType=0&bAmt=70b005e67cee82d9&cobrand=2&ppr=ec0ac687786bce2a&rf=af1&af_assettype_id=10&af_creative_id=6&af_id=11444) and release bearing fitted to 2007 1.9 TDI Sportback (http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004DWPFCY/). The car feels ten times better than before but its seemed to have created another problem. Sometimes when I start the car the gearbox jumps and the whole car shakes, the noise that it makes is as if the flywheel is stuck or something. The closest thing I can describe it to is that felling the car makes when its about to stall because you haven't pressed the clutch or put the gear into neutral when coming to a stop.

Its come to a point where I don't want to drive the car anymore because its sounds like I'm damaging something every time I start it. My mechanic checked everything agin but didn't see anything unusual, but he said it could be one of the mountings but would a worn mounting cause this problem. Do any of you guys know what the issue may be or how to solve it, any input or suggestions would be greatfull.

Hi Isaaa

I really feel for you, I just got a new clutch and flywheel and the mechanic screwed it up and it took them 6 months to get the car back to me. I think you might be suffering from the same problem as me... and by same problem I mean, faulty mechanic, not faulty car.

Does the "shake" happen even when you start the car in neutral?

If it doesn't happen in neutral then it sounds to me like they need to bleed the clutch line again. My thought is that the clutch is dragging on the flywheel so much that it is almost stalling your car.

I hope this is the problem as it is an easy and quick fix. Good luck.
