D3 Bluetooth pairing issue. Samsung galaxy S3

My SGS3 although sees my D3 just wont pair. Been told may need a software update/ upgrade.
If this is the case any ideas where I can get it? Appreciate this is not a torrent website.

Have you tried searching from the car? Pressing TEL?

Check which MMI version you're on, press CAR, SETUP, then Settings (bottom left inner key I think) then look at version information and post up what it says.

Going from your previous thread, the car might only allow pairing from the Motorola phone, if thats the case then you could change the BT module to a full handsfree module and that would probably sort it.

You're on a very low MMI version, the most recent is 55.7.0, you're on 12.0.0..

None on eBay at the minute, but Kufatec do them BUT you can get them cheaper again from Audi - Original MMI update for AUDI A6 / A8 / Q7 5570-39469 (http://www.kufatec.co.uk/shop/en/Audi/A6-4F/Original-MMI-update-for-AUDI-A6-/-A8-/-Q7-5570)

Just ask for MMI 2G 5570 update CD pack - part number 4L0 998 961

Try that first, but if the phone fails to connect afterwards then I suggest getting a proper replacement BT HF module.

Think that might explain why it doesn't work?

Well I can't say for sure but getting the firmware up to date won't do any harm.

If you do a search for '5560' on here you'll find a couple of big threads on the subject and walkthrough thing in one of them.

Don't download them, most have issues when using DL'd discs, get the genuine article so you know the software won't be corrupt/incorrect etc for peace of mind.

They're about £15 I think from Audi, maybe even less!

Looks like the same as mine (apart from the coding which is for short/long wheelbase) which is just the Motorola unit built into the armrest.
You can't pair it any other phone, even though they can see the MMI presenting itself via bluetooth.
I stand being corrected though.

Right, updated MMI to 5570. CD 1 loaded/ updated, CD2 not loaded anything from the disk?? CD3 loaded/ updated
And did the pairing work with my phone?
NO!!!

More than likely you'll end up changing the bt module for a proper handsfree one.

Just read on a forum that the arm rest Bluetooth kit is on able to connect to the original Audi phone? And since the cradle and phone is missing, is this why my galaxy s3 wont connect? So technically its not true BT?

Post a pic of whats inside your armrest. If its just two little contacts then you just need a cradle, if its a Motorola handset then you're looking a new BT module.

Just been looking, I think I need to go from low prep to high prep. Theres a cable or sheaf that runs up to the arm rest but inside I cant see anything? And why its empty inside is beyond me?
