My old man has a 56 plate passat and everytime he hits 28mph the car 'bing's to tell him. Well when you're in traffic on the motorway this gets bloody irritating.

Is there any way to turn it off?

Thanks

Yes

Just access the puter, and go to set and then speed warning and untick it.

Well, we looked on the computer but all we can find is 'Winter Tyres'

How do I find Speed Warning?

The Winter Tyres is another speed related warning - change this to something that you think will be ok like 75mph or maybe a lot higher.

On a couple of other forum threads - some people have the speed warning facility available through the menu relating to MPG and average speed etc.

I found this on an A4 forum here. You could have a look there as well:

Isn't all this covered in the driver's manual?

If it's anything like mine, it's a speed warning indicator which you set with the right hand stalk. You can set it to any speed. You could set it very high if you don't want it to come on at all. Personally I find it quite useful. The manual tells you you how to work it, or failing that, just fiddle around with the stalk buttons until you get it right: that's what I do.
