Just traded in my A4 for a Sharan and I'm very happy overall with the performance so far but I have a few niggley problems that I'm hoping to get sorted over the next few weeks:

Rear window washer pipe joint split at passenger foot well -- Fixed with some epoxy putty but does anyone know a fast way to dry under the underlay? It seems to be wet all the way under the seat and I've been putting tissue under the floor covering too suck as much as possible out but that'll take ages. Driving with heat on the floor and the window open a crack as well.

Passenger door handle: Not working from the outside. I took the door card off and the clip to pull the door lever is broken. Can anyone tell me which variant of the handle I need to get? there's a short (36mm) and long (56mm) version but I cant see how to remove the outer handle from the door panel to check. My local scrappy says there like hens teeth coz they break so easily. Edit: Fixed, see my 'how to' in the VW Sharan Section

Cigarette lighter: fixed (Fuse and loose connection) but is there meant to be cover over the light in the actual ashtray?

Spare wheel: Winch mechanism gone off the car (not unusual from what I see here) but has anyone made a substitute? I'm looking in d scrappys for the plate to hold the spare and I'll bodge the holder with a bolt of some kind.

Interior fuse box: need a layout diagram coz there's a few missing and the layout sticker isn't all that clear and has no amperage levels on them. I know some of these are for options I mightn't have. Fuse numbers 1, 9, 10, 11, 17 and 29 are missing. Also, is there another fuse board in behind this one? there seems to be some white clips on the side that I cant figure what they're for. http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=22398&d=1379670744&thumb=1 (http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=22398&d=1379670814)http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=22399&d=1379670746&thumb=1 (http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=22399&d=1379670815)

Front fog lights: If I wanted to fit these to the car I know I'll need a new switch but what would be the procedure for wiring them up? are they pre-wired with just the lights not fitted in some models and I won't need to rewire the connection to the switch? I might just wire some DRLs to the side lights instead.

That's all I've come across so far but I'll probably find some more as time goes on.

That's all I've come across so far but I'll probably find some more as time goes on. New switch, relay, fog lights and surrounds needed. You have to wire via relay from multi connector on back of switch. Just turn on fogs on switch and find which comes live with multimeter.

DRLs it is then. Sounds a bit complicated, was doing it more for looks than practicality if I'm honest.

The fuse box layout is the thing I'm looking for the most though.

Park the car on a slope, nose facing down (or jack the rear up - chock the front wheels first obviously) to shift all the water to the front.

I propped my carpet up with a piece of wood and left a towel under there for a few weeks. Like you I drove around with the blowers pointed at the floor too, thankfully it was October and miserable and cold. It took a looooong time to dry!

These are probably model specific - what year is the Sharan?

The card shows the rough layout of the fuses - the diagram at the top shows 1 > 26 running left to right in your first photo with 27 > 34 underneath.

The other fuses are either in the engine bay or under the steering column. Lets have the year and we should be able to sort things out.

The ashtray appears to be the same as that in the Passat. There's a yellow/amber cover that slides in a small slot in the topside of the ashtray insert. Is that what you mean?

Spare wheel winch, is it just the winch you're missing? There's a few on eBay if you fancy taking a punt. A broken one can be repaired if you're feeling super brave. Don't forget it's the same part used on the early Galaxy and Alhambra too.

As for the fuses, send a PM to Crasher with your reg/VIN and see if he can help you out.

Thanks, Ill go and annoy Crasher :biglaugh:

The bulb cover is what I mean. I'm missinng the whole spare wheel assembly (as well as the spare wheel but I'll tap my tyre salesman brother in law for one of those)

Unfortunately Crasher can only look up UK registered vehicles. Anyone have access to the Rep. Ireland VW system?? (Damn all those years of fighting for independence)
