Hi folks,
Just joined today following a wee problem with the car which was correctly diagnosed on other threads (seized alternator clutch pulley) so thanks very much for that.
Driving a 2003 Mk4 Golf Match TDI PD 100 which my wife has owned from new, I drive it for commuting and she drives my much more thirsty Landrover Discovery on the school run!
This Golf has been amazingly reliable over 111000 miles and 10 1/2 years, only other failures have been an in tank fuel pump and both front electric window cables breaking, other than that its just been routine servicing and consumables, discs / pads / filters etc. So I haven't actually needed forum help for it prior to this.
Really impressed with the VW build quality, considering changing it for a new Mk7 or Tiguan next year.
