Welcome to the forum.

Did you say the DV was already fitted or did you fit it?

It may be the Dump Valve or the MAF is playing up, there bno to fail and if the car is not reving past 3000rpm its going into limp mode.

Get the Car on a fault scanner and see what logged should give you somewhere to start from

thanks for advice. new maf sensor fitted ,dump valve was on car already can hear it every time throttle is snapped .after closer inspection it looks like the pipe to the turbo has had a blank put in it and the dv is mounted in the pipe that goes to the intercooler.when driving same engined cars found to feel power at about 2500-3000 and it stays there right round to red line.in my car cant really feel turbo after 3500 rpm, up hill wont pull much past 90ish.

The 1.8T engine does not like Dump Valves.

Do you mean Dump Valve or Diverter Valve ?

it is a dump valve when changing gear it vents into engine bay not back into engine.

This is the type of Valve the 1.8T doesnt like.

You need a recirculating diverter valve, this dumps the charge-air back into the air intake system.

This could be the source of your lack of power and loss of boost at 3000 RPM.

If you can afford it buy the forge 007p it is a awesome valve and suited for your engine, i have one fitted as mluton said blow off valves are not suited to our engines you need a recirculating dv that dumps back into the intake system if you want the tshhhhhhhh sound then buy a cai (cold air intake) works well with the 007p and will get the tshhhhhhhhh hope this helps. the forge valve will set you back about £90 depending where you purchase from.;)

not really botherd about the noise more intrested in POWER than sound as every body who i drive past looks up and down for a sports car not a 7 seater. thanks to all for advice :biglaugh:
