hi all
i have a 2002 1.9tdi pd 100 golf which i have had remapped to around 140bhp.
got a k&n panel filter in also to try and make breathing a bit easier.
given that i am on a limited budget, what else could i do to make the car have a bit more "go" ?

stopping shouldn't be a problem as i have black diamond 6 groove discs and pads all round.

any help, tips, etc. gratefully received.

:)

thinking about it, would replacing the side mounted intercooler with a central one make any difference ?
thanks :)

If budget is tight, the first consideration should be how all these modifications will affect your insurance premium - you should contact them first so you're not given any nasty surprises!

The K&Ns offer very little, if any gain to a tdi - you've already had the biggest modification done, so imho it would be wise to invest in uprating the components most likely to be touched by it.
You've done the brakes, next for me would be the f/w & clutch, followed by a decent service.

Use a PD150 turbo and intercooler set up and matching injectors or even the injectors from a 2 litre 8v PD TDI. Whatever you say about your brakes, at the sort of level you are heading to, 280-mm brakes are not good enough, you should be considering 312-mm front and 256-mm rear.
