looking at a Vento as a cheap option to a bora - read recently that the Vento 1.9 CL diesel had just 75BHP. is this correct? seems miserly when u think even the small diesel golfs have 90+ BHP

most "small diesel golfs" have turbos bolted on ;) You are comparing apples with oranges

Jetta CL equivalent in the Golf would be the SDI or similar, which is also 75BHP

If you want much more than 75BHP from a 2L diesel you will need a turbo diesel

most diesels without turbos are useless, the SDi golf for example only pushes arond 70/80 bhp, thats from a 1.9 diesel.

if you want more power, you're going to need a Tdi. :beerchug:
