2.0 TDI... You won't be needing spark plugs then!

Contact us < About Audi (http://www.audi.co.uk/about-audi/contact-us.html)

find your local dealer and ask for parts when ringing.

How often do glow plugs need changing? Same as spark plugs?

i think you will get a fault light if one fails, but they do last a fair while. they dont wear out like a plug, they just fail so there is no set interval to change them, but its worth putting new ones in if you can get them out without snapping them.

You'll not get a warning light for failing glow plugs, just an error code :)

As above, just ring your local Audi parts desk or check on eBay for genuine bits.

Not on any of my two cars when glow plugs have failed.

Glow plug flashing usually means a DPF fault as in that pesky g450.

Hi all
does anyone know the prices for the following items from audi or any other places that would supply genuine parts ...

RE brakes I went Pagid on my A6 (4F) 3.0 TDi quattro, Pagid is part of TMC friction which are Pagid/Textar/Mintex. For instance Textar are OE for my VW Crafter and some other VAG models. TBH the Pagid pads/discs replaced genuine ones and really no difference in braking ...

On oil Quantum is Castrol Edge branded for VAG, recently eurocarparts via ebay listing had great price on Castrol but I've been using Quantum for 2yrs now as that is cheaper & more quantity vs Castrol branded oil, even if they are the same thing ...

Now air and oil filter OE is Mahle on my car, pollen is Mann, perhaps view the current filters to get OE manufacturers. You may find unless an autofactor has a promo on filters the genuine ones are not vastly more expensive than them ...

Link:- Definition of OE Original Equipment, OEM Original Equipment Manufacturer, Genuine, Aftermarket Parts (http://www.epsparts.com/contents/show/OE-OEM-AFTERMARKET-DISCUSSION-PAGE)

On brake fluid & coolant I'd go genuine from VAG dealer ...

Glow plug OE manufacturer is Beru on mine ...

What gearbox do you have?
