There was no way to resist the temptation... Typing this in Munich, in my hotel room - try to guess what preceded it! AUTOBAHN... My phone GPS recorded 253.8 km/h... I still cannot remove the smile smile from the face - yes it was irresponsible BUT it was not illegal... ;) My car ROCKS!

I've seen way past 100mph in my A6 a few times .. On a private road however :)

For an extra buzz (if you need one) try setting the ACC to 250 km/h and when someone pulls out in front of you not applying the brakes. That is scary.

I don't know how Germans (like the guy in the Youtube vid) can drive for so long at that speed. I can manage about 15 mins!

I managed to get my A6 up to 139MPH before I ran out of room where I was today.

It was stable and smooth. A fair bit of wind noise.

John, noticed you have the sound proofing glass option. Any thoughts on how much difference this makes to the overall wind / road noise that enters the cabin compared to an A6 with standard glass (appreciate maybe not at 139 ...)?

I would recommend the sound proofing glass without any hesitation. Had I know how good it was, I would have gone for the option all round instead of the privacy glass (you cannot have both), and then added the blind option.

I have had the car around 6 weeks and have done about 3500 miles. The road noise is by far the loudest sound form the car, with all of the windows up :)

I did some testing a few weeks ago, where I managed to get my wife to take the car out, and I sat in the back. The level of road noise seemed louder. My wife than swapped places, and she would hear the difference as well.

I do have a sound pressure meter (SPL) but I have not done any proper tests yet. I may in the future.

My bad. I normally use Chrome for this forum. I saw the email reply, and clicked on the link. Did a complete system re-install last week and still sorting out the bugs.
