Aftermarket or OEM?

OEM you're looking mega big bucks. Remember with xenon you'll need headlamp washers and self levellers for the beam - this can be expensive to fit too.

Most people with halogens just use better bulbs such as Osram nightbreaker or Philips Xtreme vision which are legal but the xenon conversion can be done but its big money.

Welcome to VWAF.

I just updated my post.

For one oem used headlight you're looking at around £200 before the adapter kit also.

Well I know in Northern Ireland your car will fail its mot if its fitted with hid/xenon and the washers and self levellers are not present - your risk.

Audi A6 Xenon headlamp right 4F0941030 | eBay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Audi-A6-Xenon-headlamp-right-4F0941030-/151096195021?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item232e08f7cd) - not even sure if this is a uk unit. Seems to be slightly damaged with wires missing.

You'll need these - Xenon/HID Headlights - Adapter - Audi A6 4F-33912_M (http://www.kufatec.co.uk/shop/en/Audi/A6-4F/Xenon/HID-Headlights-Adapter-Audi-A6-4F)

You can't fit LHD units afaik as the beam pattern is different and the headlamps are a different part number.

Someone to code them and check your CCM is compatible with xenon and led DRL.

That's all there is on ebay at the minute. I either suggest look at cars being broken for spares or kee an eye out.

Northern Ireland is in the uk so you might want to check that.

I don't think those are proper xenon/hid projector headlight units, I think they maybe halogen projector headlights ...

1. It is importantant to understand that headlamps are designed to meet govt standards.
each manufacturer goes after those standards in their own way.
they use:
Halogen bulb w/ reflector lamps
Halogen bulb w/ projector lamps
HID bulb w/ reflector lamps
HID bulb w/ projector lamps
Each one is designed with the exact type of bulb and can't be swapped back and forth. These designs are computer generated based on the the exact bulb.

RE MOT failure you will be ok but why self levelling is recommended or done by manufacturer is so people don't get blinded by HID light as it is High Intensity Discharge of light!

On this is an extract I saw about rules :-

Section 1.7
"Vehicles equipped with High Intensity Discharge(HID) or LED dipped beam headlamps may be fitted with headlamp washers and a suspension or headlamp self levelling system.

Where such systems are fitted, they must work; however, it is accepted that it may not be possible to readily determine the functioning of self levelling systems. In such cases, the benefit of the doubt must be given.

Headlamp washers may work in conjunction with the windscreen washers (when the dipped beam headlamps are switched on) or by a separate switch."

But think of oncoming drivers being dazzled! :(

One of my biggest pet hates on the road seeing cars with HIDs and not being levelled correctly.

eBay is your only bet, or unless you trawl owners forums or buy new.

That seems to be for supply and fit.

You will not get these for cheap, they're an expensive upgrade.

Well the odd time you might find a bargain but for now you'll have to fork out the money or fit bulbs like I suggested earlier in the thread.
