Where is this plastic clip supposed to be ?

Hello all:

I found this plastic clip on my car's carpet this morning,right under the copilot seat. My car is a Cross Golf base on golf MK5.
Anyone know where is this clip supposed to be? Many thanks for the help.

It looks like the plastic end to the metal channel that the front seats slide along. It clips on the front of the channel. On my car, the one nearest my door keeps getting knocked off by my foot when I get in!
