I'm an 18 year old guy with a second hand polo with 77000 miles on the clock. I'm not very technical with cars, and recently I noticed a blow coming from my exhaust, however I couldn't find the leak. Also, I blewout a tyre a few weeks ago, went to the tyre shop yesterday to be told i needed 2 new front tyres as my car needed re-tracked, however when the car was on the ramp, i was told there would be no point as the rear bush joints have snapped.
So... instead of going to a garage and costing a fortune, one of my work colleague's son, who is a tyre mechanic is fixing it. However, a few ball joints are also loose, so he intends to buy two new wishbones and replace them on each wheel, should this fix my problem and once done and re-tracked, will this sort out my uneven tyre wear, or do i need new bush joints as well
The hole in the exhaust is just under the engine, in the flex pipe, he is getting a repair kit and patching this up, will this do the job also or would i be better getting a new exhaust?
Sorry for being a bit of a noob, but i want to know my car will be done right, he says he can fix it all for £50 including parts, anyone got any idea how much i'll be looking at in total,
Cheers,Johnny
