Hi all.. Just bought a new A1 sport 1.2 TFSI, just wondering if the fuel consumption will get better after a few miles or once its 'broken in' so to speak, just seems to have used a lot of fuel in the few hours I have had it? Thanks in advance :-)

Welcome to VWAF :)

Anything up to 10k miles before seeing optimum mpg and power is acceptable ;)

Any pics of the car?

Hey, it will improve for sure (especially it being a 1.2 turbo) engine being new is tight, meaning there is more friction while all those shiny new innards are bedding in, may I suggest that while running in that you give it a little welly in the higher gear 2nd and 3rd take the rev's up a little higher, not all the time just every now and then, and of course do it safely, I say this because though they say run In a motor pootling around at something like 50mph (or whatever it is now) you reach the run in mileage and your engine is still tight, thus it will take longer for fuel consumption to level out at optimum. Shouldn't use too much oil (due to said friction in a tight engine), but still worth dipping between now and first service, its just good practice. oil is important. Anyway Good choice of motor....Enjoy ;0)
