Window has a mind of its own!

My passenger side on my A3 electric window works but wont stay where I want it to, have to keep it closed as it opens itself. Any hints or tips would be gratefully received.

My windows are similar on my golf, when i try to close them every now and then they drop back down. I think i heard once its due to the safety sensor thinking theres a hand or something in the way and that cleaning the rim would solve it. Haven't gotten around to it yet...
