Bought myself a lovely A3 2 days ago, a 2004 2.0TDI 140bhp with 157,000mile on it. She has a good few extras as well such as factory fitted xenon lights, audi symphony sound system, air con etc.

She seems to drive very well but there is one of two thing I'm quite curious about.

I've noticed that when driving at high speed on the motorway that I can feel what I can only describe as a rotating vibration through both my clutch and brake pedals. There is also a bit of a humming noise while this is going on.
The rotating vibration and the humming are far less noticeable when driving at lower speeds however.

The only work that I'm aware the car needs is that it requires new brakes. I'm wondering could this be the cause of this strange rotating feeling through the pedals or is it likely to be something such as a drive shaft maybe?

There is also a bit of a burning smell when I get out of the car after driving and the engine is running but stops once i switch off the engine.

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar to this?

Could be a binding brake but get them checked anyway.

Any judder from the clutch or anything?
