Hi All, I have an Audi A4 Avant 2.0 Tdi Auto 2012 and in the last week when the car has been stood all day or night when starting the car its is taking 3 goes to start nothing happens on the first 2 goes but it fires up on the 3rd, its ok the rest of the day it usually starts first time. Im going on holiday at the weekend and wanted to know if theres anything I can do, Is it the battery ? if it is the battery would it be covered by car warranty. Thanks

are you sure you have the brake held in, and i mean right to the bottom as even a 1mm will stop the car from starting.

and yes the battery will be under warranty.

If you find that the clutch pedal has to be pushed all the way down its normally the clutch switch which is part of the clutch master cylinder, prevents the terminal 50 feed to the starter motor hence no turning over until the pedal is pressed a few times

In most cases no error code is flagged but a simple measured value block check will show the clutch position
