A Trip To Audi Tomorrow I Think

Monday holiday so I’m going to take my Avant(58) to Audi Stirling.
I have a few issues I would like seeing to,

1- corrosion , the front arches are flaking on the lip.
2- boot lid has 4 or 5 spots of corrosion coming through.
3- headlight wash, off side doesn’t return in.
4- AC, first time needing it and the bloody thing’s not working.

When I bought the car a few months back from an Audi approved garage, I got 1 years warranty, so here’s hoping I get some joy.

All should be covered by the corrosion guarantee and the approved used so nothing to worry about.

Thank’s Chris, would I have to tell them of my re-map ? Not wanting it wiped or interfere with the warranty .

they won't be happy that the car is remapped, i've read on here that some have refused point-blank to do any warranty work on a car with a remap but best telling them and see.

Oh, I might not say anything then because the garage where I got the car said he would re re-map it if it was wiped any time.

They can tell if it's been remapped if they hook it up to their machine but as they're only doing a fault code scan for the AC I wouldn't worry.

i got my wings and lid replaced under 12 year corrosion warranty not two months ago from Stirling mate. I have to say the service was amazing from Lomond. very impressed. im sure you will be fine.

That is encouraging to hear, how long did it all take and did you get a courtesy car ?

took 10 days. i got a polo car! had to pay my insurance. but tbh,,, i was so shell shocked that they were gonna do this that i though why not!! lol

Just back from the dealers, the guy was very helpful.
Took down all my details as a new costumer and booked it in for a paint inspection next wednesday.
As for the AC and washer, the warranty company dosen’t have an account with them so it might be a case of footing the bill ourself and then claiming the cost back.

PS: £15 for the use of a hired car for the 1 day for inspection.

OH !, they will look at the AC & washer free of charge when it is in.

If the car is under Audi approved this can be used at any UK audi dealer.

The £15 is for insurance for the hired car, think that is per day too, hope that is not charged when it goes in to get repaired.

Dropped the car off tonight to get its paint inspection done tomorrow

Will do. They have to send the results to Germany for them to give the go-ahead first.

The £15 is for insurance for the hired car, think that is per day too, hope that is not charged when it goes in to get repaired.

Last time I had warranty work carried out, Audi said to me it would be £15 as well but didn't actually charge me for it in the end. P.S Might be worth checking your own car insurance paperwork...often your own insurance will cover a courtesy car whilst you are having work done

That’s my car back from the garage, they said it will take a couple of weeks for the results from Germany.
They checked the AC and said it needs re-gassed and they fixed the sticking headlight washer free of charge.
Washed and hoovered .

And never charged me the £15 :cool:

Thats good, I was told around 2 weeks so should hear something next week hopefully.

When i brought mine in, they looked at it there and then, measured the paint thinkness and took photographs. After a week, i heard nothing, and when i called they said, the paint warranty had ran out, the car was a 2007 year!!! After i imformed them that that would be impossible as the uk B8 was only sold since 2008, they quickly sorted it out:o

We got a call from Stirling Audi today, there is a Tech coming from Germany to inspect the corrosion. They said that they pick cars at random for a manual check and mine just happens to be one of 4 to be inspected next week. On the plus side, they are picking the car up at my work and dropping it back off.

Guy from Audi picked my car up from work today, he left a nice white Q5 s line in it’s place but never left the key’s:mad: ( was hoping they wouldn’t get mine back in time ), but they did. I never seen the guy so he left paper work saying that I will be notified in 2 to 3 weeks from the bodyshop as to the next step.

Update:

Phone call from Lomond Audi today saying they have the go-ahead to repair/replace front wings and tailgate . Just to arrange a date now as we are off on holiday on friday for a week.

ok, car into audi today, wait an hour whilst 'guy from audi' checks car over. now have to wait for his report to advise on work if any etc - they really don't make these claims easy :confused:

Yip, I know the feeling. We phoned Glasgow Audi today and the car is booked into their bodyshop on 7th October.
Courtesy car will be a vw polo :o which I will have to sort out the insurance for.

No did'nt charge for car. fully insured all in . all they asked was to put back diesel used , but i had made a mistake and had just finished my last night shift i went to bed, I only had 8 miles there and back so didnt put diesel in. By the way it was a 3 door coupe. I wouldnt buy one no room in the back and manual i won't buy another manual again.

Well car goes in on monday, we phoned them today as they were to pick it up from work but it's our holiday monday so they will collect it from the house.
Still a bit ****** off the courtesy car will be a 1.2 Polo Match :zx11: and that I have to insure it myself.

Audi phoned today to tell me that they will not have a Polo in time for monday :p
So I will have to make do with a brand new A1 :biglaugh:

I'm insured with Quote me happy, which is online only. Hell knows how to contact them regarding insuring the courtesy car, can't even phone them. Audi will have to tell me tomorrow the reg of the A1 anyway before they come for mine.

they replaced both wings and repaired a very small rusty bit under the rear drivers side light. they also repaired some minor stone chips on the boot too which was very nice of them ( if I didn't know better id have thought the boot had been replaced too :) ) and of course everything matches perfectly ;)

That sounds pretty good, it's a pity they don't repair stone chips on the bonnet as mine is a bit of a mess

They gave me a 1.4 TFSI Sport a while back and that thing was nippy! Small tank tho thats the only thing.

Well got my car back from Glasgow Audi, haven’t had the chance to have a good look as it was dark by the time I got home from work.
Nice n clean inside and out. The invoice just said “paint correction to both front wings, sills and tailgate."
Will have a better look tomorrow .
