2.0 TDi 140 Inlet Flap Motor

Engine warning lamp on. Scanned with VCDS, fault code 012547 showed intermittent. Fault status 00100000. Fault priority 2. Fault frequency 12. Fault is now clear and not reappeared today.

Do you think I will get away by cleaning it? as I don't want to pay around £400 for a new valve unless I have to.

I would leave it. There are lots of codes that flash up and never return.

Took it off and cleaned it today, no damage to gears apparent. Housing was full of dirty black engine oil. I cannot see how it got in there, should I refill it with oil?
