View Full Version : keeping paintwork in good condition

Just wondering since i have bought myself a newish audi and i plan to keep it for a good few years want to make sure the paintwork and so on stays looking just as good as the day it came out the factory so what will help me achieve this its in pretty good condition now hence why i want to keep it looking smart ? also interior have half leather s line seats so what do you all use to keep them looking fresh carpets so on just looking for a few tips as i like to keep my cars looking smart.

with the paint i was thinking maybe a claying as a starting point so whats the best to get just stuff from halfords will that do ?? or has anyone any better ideas on were i should be putting my efforts ???

A good base point is your washing technique.

2 bucket method (one bucket for shampoo and another to rinse) using a lambswool mitt along with drying using microfibre drying towel is a good base.

Also get your wheel cleaner right, make sure its a ph-neutral solution as acidic ones can eat into the lacquer and paint.

Also pre-washing with snowfoam will loosen any dirt and grime before the initial wash stage.
