The A3 will need a new turbo in the near future and have been looking at the Darkside offerings but having problems finding any alternatives - can anyone suggest anything else ?

What power are you after and budget?

At the moment the car is running on a standard turbo and a remap - I would ideally like to get to around 200 - 220 bhp, but maybe with the potential for a bit more at a later date. Budget can be flexible for the right package :-)

We have had a few customers using the stage 2 turbo from Turbo Technics will make 225 bhp with the need of a good exhaust system and fmic but that is the limit of that turbo. I will check out other bigger turbos for your car to give more power options for the future when I am at work next week.

Alternatively you could try Darkside Developments for a full kit, the GTB2056 is 250 bhp a GTB1756 is 230 bhp. Hope this helps :D

I don't think they cater for the A3 quattro though.....

I have just spoken to Darkside they have advised that it would be £1,900 for the parts kit, which incudes gt2260, downpipe for Quattro, manifold, gaskets etc. This will make 220-230 bhp and then in future if you were to change injectors and cams etc you can keep this turbo and achieve up to 260 bhp.

Turbo dynamics also have the mdx446 which can produce 220bhp and at a push 250bhp. The price would be £855 plus vat. I have fitted both turbos and both work well.

Thanks very much for your help. When you say about the exhaust system change I have looked previously at the Miltek range, is there anything else to consider ?

Milltek is the best for the money and for this reason that is all we supply.

Milltek had a stand at Goodwood FOS last week and they said they don't cater for the quattro.....
