Also i Wouldn't mind having bluetooth whats the best device to install so i can make calls and listen to my iPod.

Is it a genuine cable?

Press the Application menu on vcds main screen, press Erase All DTCs, do a few ignition cycles and rescan.

Re iPod/phone, look into a Dension Gateway 500.

The cable was one from fleebay so probably not genuine. Ill erase all the DTC tomorrow and have another go.

ok so i deleted the dtc's the engine management light disappeared for a day and now its back again. hope its not going to be a pain in the **** for me

ok so i got the manifold swirl flap repair kit but i only install the arms deleted the fault and so far so good. I went to channel 77 adaption and turned on bluetooth then went to coding and put the values 001920 i think and bam bluetooth worked.... then when i turned the ignition off and on again it stopped working and ideas???

ive also updated to 5570 but at the end of cd 2 i get the whole handyvorb2 not ok tried the cd maybe 10 times but no luck

Wen you changed the coding did you press Do It then do a mmi reboot?

Hold in Setup, central dial and inner top left key.

What does it say when you press TEL?

i clicked do it but never did the Hold in Setup, central dial and inner top left key it says phone not connected or something like that ill check tomorrow. ill also try to reboot mmi

Any ideas about the handyvorb2 problem

Chris thanks for your help buddy changed the adaption to 1 then rebooted mmi, then changed the coding and did mmi reboot. The phone connected fine with good signal. I then turned off the ignition waited 60 seconds (don't know why but I did) then turned it back on again. The phone connected which made me a happy bunny.

I then put cd 2 of the mmi update tried to install it but once again the handyvorb2 shows as NOT OK.
I then tried to pair my phone to bluetooth with no joy. So had to go through the whole coding process again.

My question to you guys, are there any benefits in cd 2 installing correctly and
do you have any suggestions in how I would get the ******* to install.

An hour after I wrote that last post jumped in the car and bluetooth not connecting this is really annoying

I saw a thread where the poster had connectivity issues with bluetooth, poster found the bluetooth aerial had worked itself loose on the module ...

google for SSP 326 , view page 4 item 10, now you know where BT module is :) ...

Hi gupsterg thanks for the info. However the aerial is not the problem in this case, it's the fact that the coding doesn't save. When i can pair the phone after i've coded it works great. It's when you turn the ignition off for a period of time, the coding seems to vanish. Ive just been out to the car again and noticed that when I enter 0010920 all the other line are zeros this cant be right can it?

Is it a genuine cable?


The cable was one from fleebay so probably not genuine.

You maybe having the issue due to non-genuine cable but :dunno:...

Only other suggestion I can come up with is force flashing the BT module via disc 2 of MMI 2G Firmware 5570 update ...

Going by your log you have MMI FW of 5140 ...
