strange tone coming from my car, that kicks in roughly about 15-20 mph, and increases pitch as i accelerate. Old man is convinced its a wheel bearing! looking for some advice on whether this is an easy one to fix my self, or whethere i need a garage? im quite handy and like a challenge. is this the part i would need?

easy to do comes as complte unit ?chech your tyrs first and maybe swap front to back and check noise audi r prone to road noise as tyres wear down I just changed mine ?I had a cheeper tyre on rear and it was where the road noise was coming from ?stuck on a new set dunlops and noise is gone

Have you tried the old jack up a corner at the time and wiggle the wheel test?

Jack up each corner in turn. hold the wheel at ten to two or quarter to three and shake it rapidly a dodgy bearing MIGHT allow the wheel to move slightly and let you feel the worn one.

well the garage confirmed to me today, that it was the drivers side bearing for sure.
