I bought a B6 passat SE 140 just after the launch in june 2005, having had VW's since the early 80's I have never had a major problem with them
Late last year I noticed marks on alloy wheels and immediately blamed my wife for kerbing the car!!!! as you do....after a time these 'marks' started apearing on all the wheels, (This ruled out the wife) The marks now were obvious corrosion:mad: Last week I trawled the web to see if anybody else had had this problem and after having read Mac's coments about wheel caps posted 14/08/2007 I noticed mine were also discolouring, so I when to the dealer yesterday to complain expecting a bit of :aargh4: I was a little taken aback when he said ' Thats ok sir, we'll go and see Emma on service reception and will order you 4 new wheels and caps... ' I was so taken aback that I did not think that the car has now done 24k and also needs 2 new front tyres...;) well done VW...
