HELP 01088 mixture control adaptation 2 ?????

HI, new to the forum but hoping some one much more knowledgeable than myself can help.

My daughters '99 6n 1.4 apq polo stalled occasionally, so ran vcds and got a code 00533 - idle speed regulation adaptation limit surpassed.

So cleaned throttle body, went to carry out a tba. Tba fails and then says group 098 not available

then the following codes are in the memory, without starting the engine, I.E. It must see the fault when it first try's to carry out the tba.

Incidentally, it does start the tba briefly, throttle flap moves before it fails.

The codes are :-

01087 basic setting not performed
16-00 signal outside specification

01088 mixture control adaptation 2
35-00 -

All I've done is clean out the throttle !! I must be missing the obvious

Any help much appreciated
