strugeling to turn ingiton key

hi i own a 2010 (60 plate) vw fox and ive owend the car for a year now and the key will lock up in the barrel so i carnt start the car or remove the key and i then have to play round with it for a min but a couple of days a go it was stuk in for the day. what can i do to fix the problem and is it a fault with vw or my car?
