I had a wiring kit supplied with the towbar when i got it...

That just plugged in "in-line" to the rear light clusters on both sides.

Possibly the same is available for your car?

That sounds like just the job can you remember any details of who the supplier was The Tow bar I fitted was a "Witter" and fitted perfectly although the instructions failed to mention removal altogether of existing steel bumber located under the skirt to facilitate access to the insides of the chassis box apart fro that the "Cut" is near invisible I am very pleased !!

I bought mine from Ebay, (towequipe, now known as towbarman01?) just had a quick look and is doesn't look like they have one for the Jetta yet.... still too new.

Sorry i couldn't help you further

There IS a towbar available for the Jetta

http://www.westfalia-automotive.de/e_frameset.htm

click on catalog and fill in the blanks, it seems VW also do a oem lower skirt like i have on my golf.

Towbars direct will also supply this bar and 7 pin electrics

The OP already has the towbar (fitted himself), he is requesting where he can purchase the Plug-in wiring harness for the electrics. :beerchug:

Any contact info for towbars direct?

Cheers

The link and contact details for towbars direct are in the towbar thread that is sticked at the top of the Golf section. Post number 26

The standard uk 7 pin electrics and multiplex bypass relay should be about £30

Nice work Bob.

It is surely a coincidence that every forum member, that has fitted their own tow bar that has required bumper alterations have done, what can only be described as surgeon quality work. Look at the examples i photographed, these were apparently fitted by 'professionals'.

All well the fitting is very straight forward....... to anyone contemplating it, very easy but my instructions did not tell me that the VW bumper bar (Under the plastic painted bumper) has to be removed and left off (the tow bar now takes its place ) to allow the towbar to slide into the chassis which is covered with the vw bar in place cost me 5 mins head scrathing all in all an hour in and a half should see it on I measured the bumper for the cut very carefully having laid it on a old sleeping bag to avoid any scratch,s drilled it in the 2 top corners of the cut with an 1/8th drill then used a stanley for the cut this is the difference between a good job and a bad one
apart from that very straight forward

I mean the electrics, did you use dedicated electrics or normal with relays??

Hello
I was supplied by my local after market dealer a company called Dingbro
http://www.dingbro.com/gateway/default.asp

They came up with the relay box which is fitted in the boot , It was easy to fit only thing to bear in mind is it needs a 12v power supply which I took from the aux power supply in the boot, word of advice before making any connections install a 3 amp fuse in the feed to the new relay to protec the car circuits

If you are in any doudt get someone qualified to help you It would be a costly affair to damage any of the cars sensitive electrics

good luck

Its easy to install a 12V power from the battery under the car along the brake hoses. The white cable to the lights in the tailgate of the Golf can be accessed by taking the c pillar trim off, probably similar in the Jetta.
