HELP! mk4 golf rear valance

i have a mk4 golf gttdi with an anniversary bodykit on however i have recently bought a milltek exhaust that requires a cut out on the valance. i have bought one however i am struggling to fit it. the valance that is currently on fits on by 2 screws from the back arches and 2 screws in the bottom in the middle, where i am having trouble is where th valance meets the bumper there are little plates that push into the bumper and these have a small clip that secures it to the bumper. however the new valance does not have these and i am struggling to secure it. any help would be greatly appreciatted.
