1996 A4 TDi se Avant just stopped and now wont start

Was just driving my A4 and the engine just cut out without any lights coming up on dashboard and now wont start just turns over very slow can anyone help please

Charge or change the battery.

and if the battery is ok, is the timing belt still intact and has it ran out of oil and seized solid.

Got it towed home last nite and took battery of too charge and upon further inspection i have found the cam belt has snapped so hopefully it hasnt done much damage

it will have bent valves, so its head off, new valves and anything else thats damaged, then build it all back up again. luckily your engine is really easy to fix, being a pre pd lump.
