I have removed the recessed area in the boot

and can see the orange pull cord but not the solenoid...?

There is also a star screw on the plastic housing next to the

filler cap but it doesn't release the plastic housing...

can anyone point me in the right direction?

thanks

u dont really need to be in the boot tbh. you need to remove the the insert part. think there is 1 screw then 4 clips. i done this about 1 month ago. you may well damage the insert on removal (i did and had to buy a new one at 15 bucks, audi did warn me i might lol),part number 8k0809999 and either A or D depedning on model year

How did you remove the plastic insert?

used a thin flat head screw driver and prized it off. after i removed the screw.

gutted! after I take the plastic insert out can it be repaired with glue if the clips snap off? I didn't realise it was going to be a 30 pound fix!

you might not damage it so you might be ok. i did. put it this way, i got a quote from audi to do it; 150 bucks! so i was more than happy to pay 15-30 and know that no one can tamper with my fuel system.
