AUTOGLYM INTENSIVE TAR REMOVER 325ML CHEAPEST ON EBAY | eBay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUTOGLYM-INTENSIVE-TAR-REMOVER-325ML-CHEAPEST-ON-EBAY-/190648098925?pt=UK_Car_Accessories_Car_Care_Cleani ng&hash=item2c6383206d)

Used it many of times and brought excellent results.

Squirt it on or apply with a sponge applicator, wait until the tar starts to bleed and then wipe off or you can rub it in with a cloth if you dont wanna wait.

see here for some bleeding tar http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?144474-A3-Easter-Cleanup!-(image-heavy)

I wouldn't be putting white sprit on the car tbh but I'm sure the Autoglym ITR will contain some sort of spirit too.

Going back many years t-cut was good for this sort of stuff but more as a one-off rather than something used regularly.

Requires a lot of added elbow grease. If you have metallic don't use the regular stuff make sure you use the metallic flavour.

+1 for Autogylm tar remover. Breaks down tar/rubber deposits very quickly and you donlt need a lot of it.

I do use the Autoglym tar remover and it is good, I also use a clay bar which is another alternative Zaino - Z-18 ClayBar - Car Cleaning Products | Car Care Products | Zaino Europe (http://www.zainoeurope.com/zaino/z-18-claybar/prod_14.html). People are sometimes scared of using them as they can leave marks if not used correctly, but as long as the pait surface is kept lubricated they are excellent and remove other surface contaminants as well as tar..

Another vote for AutoGlym here, and another vote for clay too - I particularly like Bilt Hamber stuff, but I am sure that there are others just as good.

Autoglym tar remover....simples

Its actually cheap as chips too........After washing, a liberal spray on the lower half of the body then wait a few minutes and simply wipe clean with a microfibre soaked in the tar remover and it'll fall away.

Another quick wash with warm soapy water to ensure complete removal is always a good idea.

A microfibre soaked in petrol will achieve exactly the same results......a quick wash down with warm soapy water afterwards, then rinse.

Sorted.

A bit late of a reply for the OP, but another option for tar removal and something everyone probably has lying around somewhere - WD40 works a treat! same method as above - spray on, wait until tar starts to bleed then remove and treat your car to a good clean :)

Cheers Neil.
