think im needing a new tailgate as the rust has spread badley inside! new o/s wing too and some welding on the rear pannel too also will need to get the car on a rampand overhaul the underside of the car de rusting welding and spraying ect! loads more too do ill keep reporting back with pics ;)

also quick question ive got the bigger brakets for the big bumper conversion do i use the re-enforcer bar and legs from the small bumpers to fit the big 1's?????

na not needing a new tailgate as it can be repaired its inside the tailgate thats rusty not the exterior side but CAN BE REPAIRED APPARANTLY :)

ive got a pannel beater coming round on thursday to have a propper look at all the pannel/derusting work that needs to be done and quote me a mates rates to do the work after all the dents are removed and the rust is gone she will be booked in for the jade green (same colour) respray

not alot if i had a massive garage i know i would have the interior vertually finished too by now but i dont have the space to rip the exterior and the interior apart :( got a pannel beater coming round next week to evaluate how long and when bodywork will be completed just wants beers and takeaways for doing the job! which is awesome! then respray in november then get cracking on the interior! will be drivable when exteror is together

had anouther mate/pannel beater round and he is happy to do the work and had a diffrent opinion to the other pannel beaters opinions so its all good! all dents/scratches/rust/rot are outlined and highlighted :) im away this weekend fixing the flamin beezer so will get started on the scratches and dents after work next week monday/tuesday maybe wednesday then on thursday/friday and the saturday maybe into next week will be welding up the mouding holes single wiper convertion smooth rear pannel badge holes and tailgate wiper and washer jet de rotting the arches weld shut the areial hole on n/s wing so quite alot ;)

got the cupra interior delivered yesterday and is in mint condition can sense it being an **** to fit them but will be so worth it! aint seen cupra seats in a golf :D also bought some g60 arches and sideskirts last night for £110 ;) so is all taking shape now :)

well didnt go out in cheterfield in the end as the young taxi driver and the young lass in the travel lodge sed that sheffield is better on a friday night so went there in the end and it was the biggest pile of goat poo ive ever done exstreamly boring no hot girls and crap night life waste of money lol

jbs worked hard on getting the work done in the two days and got all the work done gaskets mounts and changed the slave cylinder on the clutch but this didnt fix the problem so im replacing the master cylinder when i have time ;) but other than that its running sound as a nut and am very happy again hope that the engine mounts will stop it happening again as the 5th gasket would be a joke!!!!! the old engine mounts that came out where absoloutly goosed!!!

a very kind friend lent me his compressor yesterday so managed to get a bit more work done

ive smoothed the aerial off as wont be wanting a radio :D and smoothed all the moulding holes off on the doors 1/4 pannels done more on the dents ect

now need to modify the arches for the 9j borbet wheels squeezing in there and cut rust out of 1/4 panel and weld new metal in and repair the break in damage on the n/s door and thats about it anyway pics speak more than words so here are a few more pics

HAVENT UPDATED FOR AGES! missing a few updates but hey :)

got some work done on the golf! the weather held out and wasnt toooooo cold

had the tyres (toyo proxes4 put on yesterday for £30 BARGAIN! as had special bike valves and special tool to get the tyres pumped up as i wanted a bit of stretch!

so the first thing this morning was to get the wheels on to see how much arch pulling was needed and just couldnt genrally wait to see what they looked like!

as the stretch on the tyres gives the arches better clearance they were only needed to be pulled a couple of inches!!

the arches were pulled out 2 ish inches all around so their is nice clearance! they were also rolled so the lip wouldnt reck the rubber.

been playing around with the door cards last night this is what ive done to them!

stripped them down and hoovered/cleaned then using a liht coat of normal black paint have turned theminto this :) still feels like fabric just not a granny dirty grey anymore! this should really improve the interior when i get to it also fitted the speakersinto them.

well after layiyin bed till 1ish i decided not to be lazy and get some more bits done on the beast

ive grinded off as much of the rust as possible in the arches and have sanded it all down primed it and stone chip blacked all the arches out

stop the arches rotting out anytime soon :)

ive been working on it all day again today put anouther layer of sealer in the arches on the rolled arches and gave the arch wells/inner wings anouther thick layer of stonechip black to eliminate ANY new rust! also finally finished EVERY REPAIR :funk: all that needs doing is sand the overspray down and rub bumpers down for primer! PREP DONE!!!! (BIG BIT)

im picking up some exstreamly exspensive coilovers tomorrow and also ive bought some new doors with audi handles welded in :cheeky: to be extra diffrent! costly but will both be well worth it!

got the painter popping over next saturday to prime the whole car :D finally getting closer to the repaint!

before saturday ive got to modify my arch trims (g60 arches) to clear the wheels and repaint them textured black. fit the large service kit ive bought and the new radiator with coolant! alot to do but slowly getting there pointless puttin pics up of progress looks sorta the same as last pics

picked up my spax rsx coilovers today retail at £620 and got them for £200 second hand in good condition but i want them to look BRAAND NEW so ive dismantled them and im respraying all the parts will post pics when im finished :) the audi doors had modifyed door hinges to fit is horrid lambo hinges so didnt get them in the end :(

car is all booked in at my work for repaint on friday 11th january :funk: will be checked over, blocked down, de-greased and masked up friday then painted on the saturday and left to dry/harden over the rest of the weekend on the monday it will then get de masked and then can get my teeth really stuck in

also moded the g60 arches by cutting the moudings off and smoothing the gap of retextured it an painted them :)

in the first pic you can see the top hole has a dent and a hole at the bottom the g60 arches tht ive modded not to have mouldings coming off of them show this dent/hole so have smoothed this off in second pic :rolleyes:

ll update on the paint situation, Its been primed completelty and the doors bonnet and tailgate have been removed and primed and started to be rubbed down

should be done by now but WILL probably be finished this weekened or for DEFINATE the next!

over the last week or so ive been working hard on the golf ive ripped all the old interior out and have been fitting my gti mk4 recaros in the front (NIGHTMARE OF A JOB!) they will look SPOT ON tho when they are in just cusom making brakets and cutting and wellding on seats to make them work!

loads more done engine is out of donor car and sachs clutch is fitted gear box has been cleaned and painted black (looks the nuts) engine is half stripped down so i can send some bits off to be powder coated and genrally check out theinternals and it is MINT inside! new chains cams ect ect as was stated so fingers cross should run GREAT! alsopainted the rest of the suspension. rubbed down and painted the COMPLETE engine bay and re stonechipped the underside (front of the car, G60 brakes are now red, just started rubbing down the engine for some good old hammerite loving :lol: will update with pics asap! probably tonight :)

ive now fitted all the samcos and im chuffed i went for black ones as they blend in nicely i think! very annoyed about 1 of my BRAND NEW HAND MADE magnicor ht leads was broken they cost me so much!! so dont go asking why do i have a random black HT lead in amongst the red ones! anyway here are some pictures of the engine bay with the covers on, coolant bottle in, samcos and with rad in!

ive had the alarm professionally fitted and im very happy with it has warning churps if you go near it and a few other nifty gadgets anouther thing done!

having to wait till next week to have the cenral locking fitted as im ditching the mk2 origional pants pump operated system! also electric windows are being sorted aswell when hes here. as the new loom i put in simply doesnt have plugs for the electric windows or central locking?

bumper is just slipped on in these pics to check it cleared the fans (which it does) just pulled jade out to give her a much needed clean!

im also VERY concerned if the bonnet will actually touch! and this woulldnt be a problem if the 6 branch manifold wasnt 1 cm away from the arb as i would lower the rear engine mounts but as arb is there this will make mani rattle so im not sure what to do there!
its the rear drivers side corner of the engine that needs dropping a cm
or 2!

another lil update :D

i really had to sort these VVV rear arches outyou can see the lip from the g60 arch and then a rolled metal lip from the 1/4 pannel, they were very dangerous as ive stretched the tyres onto my rims the side wall was directly above the 1/4 pannel lip and if i was to go over a bump it would pull the tyre of the rim no problem.

so yesterday i set about sorting them out firsty i cut the metal out which obviously took a while as my arches are stuck on and cant be removed

i then cut slits around whole arch then etched the metal so no rust would return, then hamered the metal into g60 arch and then smothed it all of with windscreen sealer its given me about 3/4 inches extra dropping ability so im chuffed!

havent updated for a while with pics so here is the progress that has been done

the intererior is all in floor carpets trimse ect and front seats are FINALLY FITTED they were a BITCH! but theyre in and they look spot on!

dash is fitted! steering collum gave me some problems so had to dismantle the colloum re assemble and re fitted it and it went straight in!

smarted up the engine bay some more cleaning all the grimey bits and fitted the strut brace

as i lowered the car more the exhaust rattled BADLEY on the axle but ive sorted that also resprayed the

sideskirts arches and bumper tops LOOKS SO MUCH BETTER!

re do the red line around the grill fit the universal electric central locking and wire up the sound system.

wel ive taken some final pics here as the interior is all in, sound system has all been completly rewired, the electric windows have been fixed, central locking has been fitted, horn has been fixed and also n/s indicator has been fixed the car is COMPLETE VIA SUPERCHARGER! im exstremly happy with her and i hope you all are too! please all comments welcome on the finished product as i stated a few posts ago im trying to get my slideshow up but its not working!

car was sold not long ago as i couldnt afford the fuel bill for a v6 mk2 and a big turbo beezer but im on the look out for a new project not QUITE as old skool but a mk5 golf r32 :D

r32+money=4x4 and fast
