Make sure you explain to other family members where the camera lens is ( it appears from the VW boot badge )
Otherwise you may find, as I did, someone trying to close the badge / re-close the boot , thinking the boot was not shut properly !!

do you have the 8" or 5.8" display?

Does the camera image appear on the display when reverse is selected or do you press a button on the headunit itself?

I have the 5.8" display.
Yes when reverse gear is selected.
Once you come out of reverse gear the image disappears and the camera is returned behind the badge.
I think it actually closes up when you move off in a forward gear because you then hear it close up.

Thanks - looking to convert the video input for the camera to feed a TV tuner/RGB to the display as with the old RNS 510 headunit.

Sadly, the rear view camera for both Golf Hatchback and the new Golf Estate will be removed from ordering from Monday 1 July until further notice.
Apparently, they can't keep up with demand.

That's a bit of a blow - I included the camera on my car ordered recently, as I don't yet have a build week I guess it could be in jeopardy.

I'm in the same situation as you DW58 ...I'm confident :)........even if it doesn't arrive with the reversing camera we could use the services of this Company :

if you've already ordered your car and it's been accepted by vw then it will come with the reversing camera. it's only being stopped for potential customers wanting to order it not people who have already placed orders. it's a lot more expensive and a pain in the backside to retro fit the camera.
