Hi,
I've been a member for a while and reading posts I have an A4 at present and hope to pick up a new A6 tomorrow (providing the DVLA and the Mail can sort themselves out) and would like to ask for some advice/recommendations from your experience.

My Fiancee has a small Parsons Terrier and is sometimes a welcome companion on days out in my car and I'm conscious with the leather upholstery I should get a good seat cover as opposed to a blanket which we sometimes use in the A4.

Does anyone have any recommendations for this? I've looked at Heavy Duty REAR Seat Cover Protector great for dogs with Pets on the Move Logo motif.: Amazon.co.uk: Car & Motorbike (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Heavy-Cover-Protector-Pets-motif/dp/B001268Y7W/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1364465115&sr=8-6) and a similar item at Halfords but wondered if anyone else has sourced anything suitable in the past?

Thanks

Andrew

I've sometimes used a hammock-type thing for a dog in the back of my car; it is a heavy duty canvas that hangs from the 4 headrests creating a hammock in the rear seat compartment. This has the added benefit of protecting the rear of the front seats from scratches/mud etc. but is not much good if you also have rear passengers or want to use a harness for the dog. I think I got it from Halfords.

Enjoy your new car Andrew!

I bought a HatchBag boot liner for my new Passat and I see they do a rear seat hammock-style (http://hatchbag.co.uk/product.php?xProd=142) cover too. It has options to allow passenger use in the back as well as side panels, exit door flaps, etc. I am very pleased with their quality, fit & service from my one purchase experience.

Thanks for replying :) Will take your comments on board when I eventually get my car. DVLA are taking forever to process the transfer of my cherished plate to the new car. Had the new V5 for my current vehicle since last Monday (25th) but still no sign of discs and paperwork for new car at the dealers yet :(

IMHO

Get a dog carrier or cage, put it in the boot, insert dog into carrier or cage.

Dogs on rear seats isn't for me.

2nd vote for the HatchBag hammock.. I use one in the back of my car Hatchbag Boot Liners - Rear Seat Hammock (http://www.hatchbag.co.uk/product.php?xProd=142) medium is the right size for the back seat of an A6..

Also I use a harness and seat belt attachment to keep them secure.
