Does anyone have issues with judging distances on the two sides and the front? The A6 bonnet is curved and the bumpers are rounded off, making it hard to judge distances (say to 10cm precision). Even popping my head all the way up, I can not see the edges of the car.

Any tips and tricks? Turning on the parking sensor does not help as I would just hear a continuous beep.

Also parking dead straight is an issue also:(

No issues with BMW, Mercedes. I have been driving A6 for 5000km.

Cheers,

Ra

This is where the cameras fore and aft really come into their own. I went into a space literally 2cm longer than the car on Saturday.

It wasn't the vision that was the problem, it was fine control of the Multitronic gearbox at creeping speeds which is terrible.

I am basically avoiding tight roads and parking lots.
I am driving A6 Allroad in Japan. No option for fore/side cameras. Just the rear camera. As the car is Avant it is actually easy to judge the rear distance via the rear window.
A6 is a bit of pain actually since it is just wide enough not to fit into most mechanical parking spaces (where as E-class and 5 series fit).

Same examples of tight parking spaces in Japan (not my car). A6 did not fit so the valet parked an A6 like this:
