Can anyone explain if the mirror dipping option on reverse is available on all A4 B8's or do you have to have the folding mirrors too? (I don't have them)

It's available on all combinations of mirrors/seats on the 8k chassis.

You will need vcds to enable it though.

Thanks. I am looking at getting VCDS so will be back here to get a steer on how to set it.

I wonder why it is not set in the factory? Can't understand why an option would not be enabled as a selling point!!!!

If you have a look here Audi A4 B8 - VAG.com Tricks (http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=69276) you will see all the other tricks you can enable.

I think it came enabled from factory with memory seats but you can do it on any other B8 too.

I have enabled it, but it doesn't work right. you have no adjustment of the mirror. It will always return to a set position, this isn't too bad for my viewing most of the time.

Correct but it moves but it always moves back to the position it was.

I also noticed that if you set the mirror lower, it will dip lower too.

Whilst on this subject, can you let me know if the door mirror dipping can be enabled in
synch with the internal mirror dipping?

I don't quite get what you're saying?

What I meant was, can the door mirrors be set to dip at night when the internal rear view mirror
automatically dips?
My passengers get annoyed with the glare of headlights of cars behind in the door mirrors.

your autodimming?

the glass itself has to have dimming capibilities for this to happen.

Thanks. So, is there a relatively easy retro-fit available or is it the whole folding mirror
retro-fit, or does even that still only have standard glass mirrors?

you may or may not have to change the mirror base and then obviously the glass itself so it could well turn out expensive
