I have just got a mk7 1.6tdi bluemotion. It's absolutely beautiful to drive, and the park assist is amazing. However I have noticed a thunk from the rear of the car when I brake to a complete stop, followed by a sloshing sound.
I bounced the rear of the car up and down, and can hear the sloshing from under the car - I think it's the fuel tank.

is this normal? Is it dangerous? Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a way to stop it?

Im reluctant to take it back in case they want to hold it for a week or so to investigate, cos I need my car for work.

I never noticed it on my mk5. Can anything be done to stop it?

It happens on my A3 and A6 when they're both full to the throat, after about 100 miles or so it stops.

Just dont brim it?
