I ordered some new injectors from Germany for my A8 2005 3.0TDI with the ASB engine. Part no ordered was 059130855 unfortunately the part that arrived is part no 057130277 which according to information I have is suitable for the 2008 onwards A8 4.2 or the A4/A5 3.0TDI with CAPA engine code. The supplier insists they are compatible (And claims he is an Audi Technician). I have tried to get the information from Audi Main dealer and Bosch UK but they will only quote the current recommended part no and will not say if they are compatible. Obviously I would like to return them, but I will no doubt have a battle with the supplier (Add Paypal !)
Any advice or information on compatibility would be appreciated.

The parts for your engine should start 059-
The correct part number is 059 130 277 BD
but there are about 20 versions of these injectors and some crossover of parts.
Why do you say 059130855 ?

The suffix of the part number is also important, what is this?
Your early injection system max pressure is 1600 bar, there were also later 1650, 1800 and 2000 bar systems.
The injectors for 1650 and 1800 work fine in on the ASB engine in my experience, 2000 bar units reduces power in other people's experience.

The original Audi quote was for part no 059130855AX. I have just had a look at the parts supplied and 4 end with AK and 2 with AG - Can you offer any further clarity ?

Yes, but I got it in dribs and drabs the same way as you and pasted into a document when I was trying to get best bang per buck on injectors. I Got BE ones for my ASB, and I am pleased with them as they are cheaper than the specified BD and better performance but that could be because they are new vs 190,000 miles.

AG are also for the 4.2 V8... superseded to AK... some info was spread here as well... Link:- Injectors mystery - Page 2 (http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?137120-Injectors-mystery&p=791038#post791038)

Around town I used to get similar mpg, but 90% of my driving is on Motorways. I have brimmed the tank and checked the mpg that way rather than use the dash readout.
