Considering bluefin on the 1.8tfsi se. States 120bhp to 204 (close enough) either 82 or 84 bhp increase its alot anyway.
Just wondered what the thoughts on this are.

I've not used superchips or their bluefin, but I personally think the 84 bhp increase is a bit optimistic to say the least. And even if they could do it,it would probably put too much pressure on the engine and other components(i.e turbo, gearbox, clutch). Why not look at what the tuners on this forum are offering for comparison.

I've never heard anything bad about bluefin but that seems like a massive increase! Most increases are usually around 40bhp plus or minus a few.
The actual engine block will prob be fine its turbo, brakes, clutch, gearbox etc which will feel the strain more than anything.
Get some estimates from other reputable companies for comparison to give you peace of mind.

That's a big increase. I have Bluefin on my 2.0t, I only got about 35 bhp increase, but still noticeable. Had it on my Focus ST as well, and not had any issues with either.

I was told by a tuning company it would be 500. Bluefin is on sale at the moment 20% off at 365.
I was also told by the same company mu car is a detuned 160 down at 120 and i would be getting benefits of the tuned 160map. Bluefin also give the same results so i think i will just take the plunge and get it. I found a YouTube video of the before and after which unfortunately was in kmh but reached 100k pretty fast. A big difference.

Hi
Got bluefin to my A3 1.9 TDI. There is a significant power increase.
Easy to install, and "uninstall" if you want. Thumbs Up :)

I'd have to agree with the guys here. 84bhp increase seems optimistic (usually a basic remap will be 20-50bhp on average), I'd be a bit concerned about things like clutch etc and the additional strain on the turbo with such a big increase. If your car is still under warranty the chances are that you will be liable for any repair costs if a remap causes something to go wrong (its similar to overclocking a computer).
What year is your car? One thing also to beware of is that Audi started write-protecting/encrypting their ECU's on the A4 from 2011 onwards, preventing a remap via the ODBII port. If thats the case on your car, bluefin will not be an option.

I have a 2008, I think I might wait a few months before I do this now.

I got the bluefin on my 2010 even though the ecu was locked. I took the car up to superchips and they took the ecu out, remapped it on the bench and popped it back in unlocked so I can use the obd again. took about 1 hour.
As for power, and they state 55bhp increase on the 3.0tdi (240ps)

I'm wondering the turbo sounds sweet when you race up above 5k. Does the remap make it sound much better? Saw a tt launch off the lights and it had the same engine sounded amazing

My A3 sounded like it had a completely different turbo fitted after the map. Sounded awesome and even had a little flutter when letting of throttle was so addictive and I do miss it now i have an automatic it's not the same....
