injector misfire

Have intermittent misfiring fuel injector on 1996 audi 2.6.I have replaced injectors-(spark is good on all 6)seems that the electrical trigger is not working for only that cylinder (there is current there 12v) I .Checked continuity on wire back to ECU and is 0 ohms as were two other wires from good injectors.Do I have a fault in ECU?Is it fixable? I have seen elsewhere suggested that each injector wire is earthed to engine and that these might need clean up-can anyone confirm this and do you know where the earth point is?

You really need a code read to be sure, but Earth is back to the ECU, and not engine. Never seen an earth wire for an Injector be thru its body.
