I have had the last 2 long life services on my 2010 2.0 TDI Multitronic performed by a local independent VAG specialist. I’m sure they have done a decent job but they appear to be lacking in knowledge of how to reset the service indicators.
At the 2nd longlife service (37,000) when I got the car back the “oil change” schedule had been reset to 19,000 miles (correctly) but the “next service” schedule was showing 11,400 miles. Despite the garage’s protestations that it would correct itself over the next few hundred miles, it never did. I had to take the car back after 7,600 miles and get the service schedule reset so that both counters were aligned.
Last week I was back for the 3rd service at 56,000. The garage assured me they now had all their software updated and there would be no problem. I now have the same problem again regarding the oil change and service indicators, but in addition I don’t have an oil level indicator. Instead I have a message saying “drain off old oil”. Again the garage are telling me it will correct itself – but how the hell can I drive a car without any indication of oil level.
Any comments from VAG COM experts on how to correct this would be much appreciated!
